Experience the breathtaking beauty of Yosemite National Park, home to the tallest waterfalls in the United States, towering trees, and colossal cliffs that rise 3,600 feet (1,200 metres) above the valley floor. This is a remarkable opportunity to immerse yourself in the heart of nature! As we set off from San Francisco, you will be treated to stunning views of the San Francisco skyline, Alcatraz Island, Fisherman’s Wharf, and the iconic Golden Gate Bridge while crossing the San Francisco-Oakland Bay Bridge.

On our journey to the park, we will traverse the Central Valley, recognised as the largest agricultural area in the United States, renowned for its fertile volcanic soil. The segment of the valley we will pass through is particularly famous for its specialty fruits and nuts, including almonds, walnuts, cherries, and strawberries. We will make a brief stop at a local fruit stand, allowing you to sample and purchase some of the region’s fresh produce.

Following this refreshing break, we will continue our drive into the undulating foothills of the Sierra Nevada. Soon, we will enter the historic gold country, passing through towns that were established during the gold rush era, before winding our way into the majestic Yosemite National Park. Your knowledgeable guide will share fascinating history, stories, and essential information as we enter the park’s glaciated valley.

Thanks to our small group size, we can make multiple stops for photographs throughout the tour, ensuring you have ample opportunities to appreciate the stunning scenery. You will have plenty of time to observe and capture images of Yosemite’s remarkable rock formations, expansive horizons, and the park’s breathtaking waterfalls. During the tour, you will have the chance to see Yosemite Valley from various excellent viewpoints, with one of the highlights being a photo stop at Tunnel View. This viewpoint, situated at 4,500 feet above sea level, offers a magnificent view looking east into the valley.

Upon reaching the drop-off location, you will have approximately three hours of free time to explore Yosemite Valley at your leisure. You can choose to walk to the base of Yosemite Falls, visit the visitor centre, explore the Ansel Adams Gallery, stop by the Ahwahnee Hotel, rent a cruiser bike, or hike some of the trails that begin in the valley. Although it is possible to spend three weeks in Yosemite, the three hours you have to yourself will be sufficient to understand why Yosemite is one of America’s most beloved national parks.

In the late afternoon, we will regroup and begin our return journey to San Francisco, making a brief stop along the way before arriving back in the city.
